Up Paint Questions

What is Up Paint?
Up Paint is an earth-kind company committed to reducing paint waste through upcycling unused and discarded paint (that would have otherwise ended up as pollutants in our oceans and landfills). We create fabulous and beautiful new sustainable paint by rescuing old paint and giving it second life with our proprietary Evergood™ Paint Recycling Process. You can learn more about Up Paint by watching this short video here.
What does “upcycle” mean?
Upcycle means reusing discarded materials in such a way as to create a product of higher quality than the original. It involves repurposing or creatively reusing materials to reduce waste and environmental impact. In the case of Up Paint, we upcycle paint by reusing unwanted old paint and turning them into earth-kind, affordable, beautiful new paint.
What makes Up Paint different from other paint companies?
Instead of contributing to the paint pollution problem, Up Paint is helping reduce it. 100% of our paint contains upcycled paint and each gallon of paint we make saves a gallon from polluting our environment. Rather than trying to cover the earth with paint, we are trying to save the earth.
Is Up Paint lower quality paint because it’s upcycled?
No, all Up paint products meet and exceed comparable products in each category. Consumers are not willing to sacrifice quality for sustainability and so all Up products have to meet those standards before we will bring them to market. Our EverGood upcycling process includes meeting material standards and performance standards so that each batch of paint and each brush is high quality and repeatable from batch to batch. We take pride in being the first sustainable paint company using upcycled ingredients that is consistent and customizable.

Order & Purchase Questions

What is the refund policy?
How does the Up Box work?
The Up Box can be used to recycle unwanted water-based paint (Up Paint or any other water-based latex or acrylic paint). It’s designed to be mailed so you can easily package up your unwanted gallon bucket and drop it off at UPS to be mailed to us.
How does the “Buy 1 Gallon, Recycle 1 Gallon” program work?
When you purchase a gallon of Up Paint, it gets shipped to you in a retail box called the Up Box which comes with prepaid UPS return postage so you can recycle one of your old paint cans that is collecting dust in your garage, attic, or basement. All you have to do is put your unwanted gallon of paint (even if it’s only partially full) in the box and drop it off at the nearest UPS (or arrange to have it picked up).
I’d like to buy your paint in-store, where can I do that?
Our paint is carried at Micheals stores and select Ace Hardwares.
